# The 25 tallest lighthouses in the world

The Île Vierge lighthouse off the coast of Brittany, 82 metres of granite, is the tallest traditional lighthouse in the world, ahead of the Lantern of Genoa and the Gatteville lighthouse. France and Italy dominate the ranking. The list measures tower height rather than focal height, and only includes lighthouses built primarily as aids to navigation.
